Why Shuddhi

Driven by a passion for sustainable development and community wellbeing, Saurabh Gupta founded SHUDDHI NGO to empower vulnerable communities through clean water, sanitation, waste management, education and women’s leadership. With roots in scientific training and professional experience in the public sector, he leads SHUDDHI with a vision of long-term, systemic change grounded in local participation.

Founder's Message

Working style in Shuddhi is different from other organisations and always have a better scope for everyone. Team Shuddhi motivate employees & Volunteers to achieve their own goals & not only the organisation goals.

Education & Early Career

Saurabh completed his Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, India. Building on that foundation, he earned a Graduate Certificate in Water Management from UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in Delft, Netherlands and MSc in Water & Environmental Management at the University of Bristol, UK.

After graduating, Saurabh worked as an environmental/water engineer with WAPCOS (a government enterprise under India’s Ministry of Water Resources), leading and contributing to large scale water and environmental infrastructure projects. These experiences sharpened his understanding of the gaps in implementation, especially at community level, which later inspired him to found SHUDDHI.
