This Refund and Donation Policy outlines the terms under which donations are accepted and processed through our website and how exceptions, if any, are handled in line with applicable laws in India and internationally.

1. Legal Status of Shuddhi NGO

Shuddhi is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 in India, with Registration Number S/2020/SDM/NW/2014. Contributions made through our website are donations to Shuddhi.

2. Regranting and Use of Donations

Donations made to Shuddhi may be donor-advised, meaning you may recommend that Shuddhi regrant your donation to a specific charitable organization or cause. It is our standard practice to regrant up to 90% of such advised donations to eligible, qualifying, tax-exempt entities. The remaining portion may be used by Shuddhi for administrative and program support purposes. For donations made directly to Shuddhi’s own programs or causes, 100% of the funds may be retained and utilized by Shuddhi.

Regrants to advised entities are typically processed on or around the 10th of the month following the month of donation. While we strive to honor donor recommendations, final discretion and control over all donations rest solely with Shuddhi, as required by Indian and international laws governing nonprofit donations.

In the event that:

• The recommended organization does not meet legal or tax-exempt requirements,

• Shuddhi determines the advisement cannot be followed due to legal, compliance, or operational reasons,

the donation will be redirected to alternate charitable purposes at Shuddhi’s discretion, which may include its core programs and other verified causes.

3. Conditions on Donations

By making a donation through our website, you confirm that:

• Neither you nor any associated person/entity will receive, or has been promised, any material benefit in exchange for the donation.

• You will not accept any benefits such as goods, services, event access, tuition payments, or fulfillment of legal obligations (e.g., pledges or debts) in connection with your donation.

4. Refund Policy

All donations made through the Shuddhi website are final and non-refundable.

This policy is in compliance with standard practices for charitable contributions under Indian law and international nonprofit regulations. Once a donation is processed, it cannot be canceled or returned, whether it was donor-advised or contributed directly to Shuddhi.

If you believe an error occurred during your donation or if you have any concerns about the transaction, please reach out to us within 7 days at info@shuddhi.org. While we are unable to guarantee refunds, we will review your concern on a case-by-case basis.

5. Matching Grants

Shuddhi does not guarantee the availability or disbursal of matching grants for any donation or donor advisement made through pages labeled as “matching grant eligible.” Such grants are administered solely at the discretion of third-party fundraising organizers or nonprofit administrators. Shuddhi is not liable for any claims, disputes, or expectations regarding matching grant fulfillment.
